This guide can be used to help you share a calendar with someone in the office. It only works with Burg Simpson employees and cannot be used to share your calendar externally.

Outlook Client on Computer

  1. Open your calendar in Outlook and locate your calendar under "My Calendars". It will have you email to the right of it:
  2. Right-Click it and go to "Sharing Permissions"
  3. Click Add and then search for the person:
  4. Then click the person, change the permissions you want them to have, click Apply, and then click OK:
    • Permission Definitions:
      • Can View When I'm Busy: They will not be able to see any information other than "Busy"
      • Can View Titles and Locations: Can view this information but cannot re-arrange the tiles
      • Can view all details: Can open the event but cannot edit them
      • Can Edit: Can add to your calendar (this is what most people ask for)
      • Delegate: Can act as if they own your calendar (least requested, and most unsecure)
  5. Now, the person you granted access to needs to go to their Outlook, click Add Calendar at the top, and choose From Address Book:
  6. They will then search for your name, select your name, click Calendar at the bottom left, and then click OK:
  7. This will conclude the setup...

Now, there is an alternative way that is a bit easier...

Outlook on the Web

  1. Go to https://outlook.office.com
  2. Click your calendar on the left
  3. Click the "..." next to your calendar, and go to "Sharing and Permissions"
  4. In the box that appears, type in the name of the person you want to share to, and click their email address:
  5. Set the permissions you want, and then click Share:
  6. This will instead send them a link to view your calendar, and you can avoid a bunch of additional steps...
