This is the guide on how to setup Filevine for Outlook.

  1. In Outlook, at the top of the Home tab, click Get Add-ins
  2. In the Add-ins window that appears, in the search bar, type: Filevine
  3. Click the only option that appears
  4. Then, on the Filevine page, click Add
  5. Once it finishes, close the Add-ins window

Now it should appear at the top. This is where you can turn it off and on by clicking it.

Next, you need to log into it, and here is how to do so:

  1. Click the Filevine Add-in
  2. Click Sign In
  3. In the window that appears, put "burgsimpson" (all one word) into the "Use Team Domain" field
  4. Then, click the arrow to the right of ".filevineapp.com"
  5. Login with your Filevine Username and Password
    • If you do not remember that, please press Forgot Password on this screen, input your email, and wait for a password reset link to come to your email.
    • BE PATIENT IF YOU DO THIS. Repeated attempts will lock you out of the system for a period of time
  6. Then, once logged in, click "Authorize Access" if this is the first time using the app in Outlook
  7. Go through the authentication process in the pop-up window, which may require logging in using your BURG SIMPSON email and password (NOT your Filevine password.)
  8. Now you should be able to access Filevine from Outlook

Troubleshooting:

  • I can't get logged into the App?
    • Chances are, when you first tried to log into the app, you clicked this:
    • This is incorrect, and you need to instead follow step #3 from above.
      • Press the back button at the top
      • Type in "burgsimpson" (all one word) in the Team Domain field, and try to login there instead
  • The Get Add-in's Button is greyed out
    • Do the following steps to re-enable the Get Add-in button:
      1. In Outlook, click File, and then go to Options at the bottom left
      2. In the options window, on the General tab at the top left, on the right, click Privacy Settings (you may need to scroll down a little to see it)
      3. In the "Optional Connected Experiences" section, make sure that "Turn on optional connected experiences" is checked. If not, check it.

      4. Click Ok, and then click ok to close the options window
      5. Close, and then re-open Outlook, and the "Get Add-in's" should now be available
