These are the steps needed to setup your voicemail PIN and record a custom greeting.


  1. Logging into the Online Portal to Setup the PIN
    1. This is required by all users, whereas the rest of this article is not
    2. Please visit this URL: https://www.zoom.us
    3. Log into the system using the Burg Simpson Email Address and Password that you have
      1. If you have forgot your password, click Forgot Password
      2. IT does not manage this password and cannot see it.
    4. Once logged in, click Phone on the left
    5. It should prompt you to create your pin if this is the first time you've done so
      1. If not, scroll down to the Desk Phone section, and it will be at the bottom of that section
  2. Setting up the Voicemail greeting
    1. In order to setup the Voicemail greeting, there are 2 ways you can do so:
    2. From your phone:
      1. On your phone, dial *86
      2. Dial your PIN when prompted to do so
      3. Press 2
      4. Record your message and then press any key other than *
      5. Press 1 to review the recording
      6. Press 1 again to save the recording
        1. Press 2 to re-record the greeting until you're happy with it
      7. Once you have saved a recording, you can end the call
    3. From your computer using a computer-attached headset/microphone (laptops have these built in:) 
      1. Log into your Zoom account on a web browser
      2. Click "Phone" on the left
      3. In the settings tab at the top, scroll down to the Call Handling section
      4. At the bottom of that section, Next to the Voicemail Greeting - Default, press Edit
      5. Click Add Audio
      6. In the window that appears you have three options:
        1. Option 1: Text to Speech
          1. Insert a name to the "Asset" 
            1. This is just the name of the recording so you can use it in the future if needed)
          2. Change the Category to "Voicemail Greeting"
          3. You can change the language and voice of the robot that will be reading whatever you type
          4. In the Message to Play section, type what you want the robot to say when people call you
          5. Click Add at the bottom when done
          6. Press the Play button next to the audio to hear what it sounds like
        2. Option 2: Upload
          1. Follow steps 1-3 in Option 1
          2. Record an .mp3 on your computer
            1. You can use the built in recorder by searching in the start menu for Voice Recorder
            2. However, it will save your voice recording as a .m4a file. You'll need to convert it to a .mp3 file
            3. There are many online resources to help you do this, such as https://cloudconvert.com 
          3. Once you have an .mp3 version of the audio, upload it to this page
          4. Click Add at the bottom when done
          5. Press the Play button next to the audio to hear what it sounds like
        3. Option 3: Record by Computer
          1. Follow steps 1-3 in Option 1
          2. Press the Red Square in the Red Circle to start recording
            1. You may need to allow the system to have access to your microphone
            2. If so, it should prompt you for that access
          3. Once the recording is done and you've stopped it, you can then listen to it and re-record it if you don't like it
          4. Once satisfied with your recording, click Add at the bottom
  3. Now, call your phone directly and see how your voicemail sounds
    1. Your direct line is located online under the Desk Phone section as your "Primary Number"
